Orche all’Isola d’Elba

Due esemplari di orca.

Continuano le frequentazioni dei grandi cetacei nel mare dell’Isola d’Elba. Il 2020 è iniziato con lo straordinario avvistamento di alcune orche.

Molto probabilmente si tratta delle stesse che erano già state segnalate nel Mar Mediterraneo nei giorni scorsi. Lo spettacolo inusuale, documentato da un video di Luigi Lanera, mostra i grandi animali mentre pattugliano le acque del golfo dell’Enfola, a Portoferraio.

Gli avvistamenti della fauna selvatica sono frequenti all’Elba, isola “capitale” del Parco Naturale dell’Arcipelago Toscano e cuore della Riserva MAB Unesco. Oltre alle balene, avvistate la scorsa estate, e ai delfini, ospiti frequenti del mare che circonda la costa, l’isola è stata scelta anche dalle tartarughe Caretta caretta che negli ultimi anni hanno scelto le tranquille spiagge elbane per deporre le uova.
